Just do It

Do you ever have days where you just don't feel like exercising? Rundown, sluggish, wonder what difference will it make anyway? Those days are common for most people. They also can be some of the most rewarding days to exercise. I know for me, I feel refreshed and invigorated after pushing myself on the trails for an hour. I know my metabolism is boosted and those endorphins kick in and I just can't help feeling good. My appetite is suppressed and I tend to drink more water. I also feel proud of myself for having the drive to just do it.

Usually getting started is the hardest part. Just thinking about changing into your workout clothes and putting your running shoes on seems daunting. Let alone getting out there and putting your all into something you don't feel like doing. I think the key is a being prepared to talk yourself "into" it rather than "out" of it. Remind yourself that it's a small time investment with HUGE benefits. And yes, it does make a difference. Each and every time you exercise your body, you are making a difference and the effects are cumulative. Just as NOT exercising, the effects are cumulative. Keep reminding yourself this is a small gift you are giving yourself. It will not only help you look great but you will feel great too. It will give you strength just pushing past those negative feelings. Give you a sense of accomplishment and also you will have burned calories!!

Just get out there and do it!
You won't be sorry.

    30 minutes is a great way to maintain. It feels great, don't you think? Keep it up!!

    I try to exercise every day for at least 30 minutes.
